Lounging in Langkawi

Langkawi is a cluster of islands off the mainland coast of Northwestern     Malaysia. The islands are a part of the state of Kedah. It is famous for its conservation parks, islands, and beaches.

After chucking our bags in the room, Jasmin and I quickly changed into our bikinis and ran to the beach for some sun and fun.

The beach was uncrowded and mostly hosted couples and families.

Being young and single at the time, we wondered about the calmness of the area and as to where the younger crowd was. Our friend told us later on that Langkawi is mostly for honeymooners or families! And that we should be at the Perhentian Islands, an archipelago on the East coast off the mainland, exactly opposite of where we were. It would be a day's travel at least so we decided to stick it out and have fun anyway.

We rented a bicycle and explored. Caution on the time of day as it gets very hot, so best done in early morning or late afternoon to avoid heatstroke.

we got lost and found this quaint fishing village
And being the naturally naughty girls that we are, we chanced upon a luxury resort on the way!

Of course we pretended to be guests and had lunch at the restaurant, swam in the pool, hung out at the bar, and lounged at the private beach area.
It must have been 3 or 4 hours into our charade and while swimming at the pool that someone finally came up to us and asked us if we were guests. We decided to tell the truth in the end as we won’t be able to provide a room number anyway, and left.

It was fine as we already had loads of fun!

We met up with our friends who came in from the Perhentian Island and had an amazing seafood dinner at a local restaurant down the road. Then, we relaxed and smoked some shisha while listening to reggae music at a beach bar.
