Kuala Lumpur in a day!

Kuala Lumpur is the business capital of Malaysia. I found that there isn't much to do here but eat at restaurants, visit the Petronas, and enjoy the city structures.

The first time I went to KL I met up with some friends and they of course took us to see the famous Petronas Towers.  I can’t say I was impressed by a giant business skyscraper slash mall as I’m not terribly into modern infrastructures.

Although, the architecture and engineering of this monster of an establishment is notable especially as it was the first of its kind when it was built in 1998. With 88 stories of offices, shops, restaurants, a park, and a bridge, it’s pretty much a city in a building, in this case, twin buildings.

For ideas on what to do at Petronas, click the link.

After the tour, some much needed iced latte and somewhere to escape the very humid afternoon were in order. So we went to Cosmo’s World at Bejaya Times Square, which is supposedly the world’s largest indoor theme park. And it is massive with a variety of games and rides for children and adults.

This is where we encountered the craziest ride I’ve ever been on, the "DNA Mixer", is what I think it was called! It truly lived up to its name. I must've lost a strand or two after this ride! Since the park wasn’t crowded and there weren’t anyone else in line, the operator enjoyed seeing 4 foreigners scream and get roughly tossed about for an extra couple of minutes! We came to a point where we pleaded for him to stop the ride! I’ve never been pushed up, down, and around nor hung upside down so much in my life. All that with a slippery safety vest!

Would I recommend it? Sure. The Park entrance fee is a bit steep but the rides are fun and a god way to kill time with and cool down from the city heat!

After the sun had set and it was all right again to go outside without melting, we decided to sample some local street food and some fancy donuts at Big Apple Donuts. Ca't say it tastes any different from any of the big brands out there, but donuts are always good to cleanse the pallet and provide energy for the long travel ahead...

But don't limit yourself to the Petronas or Berjaya Times Square route. Get lost in the city and discover places old and new.
